4th of July in Park City Parade & Fireworks

4th of July in Park City

Celebrate the 4th of July in Park City this summer.  Take in a concert, catch the rodeo, or an outdoor concert, enjoy 4th of July Parade on Park City’s Historic Main Street  including a 5k run, pancake breakfast, parade, live music, rugby games, and beer gardens.  Top off the day with 4th of July Fireworks at dusk at Park City Mountain Resort.

Parking for the Parade will be available at Park City High School, with shuttles running people back and forth all day. While the access is easier for entry and exit at PCHS, parking is also available at Park City Mountain Resort, which is a better location to exit after viewing the fireworks.

Things to do on the 4th of July in Park City

7 A.M – 10 A.M

The Pancake Breakfast hosted by our local Boy Scouts will start off the morning in City Park. Everyone is welcome.  This hardy breakfast will get you through and entire days worth of activities. The cost is $5 for children and $7 for adults. From here it’s an easy walk or shuttle ride up to Main Street for the Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade.

8:00 A.M.

Cole Sport’s 5K Mountain Fun Run. This is an event you’ll want to preregister as it does sell out!  All proceeds will benefit the Park City Ski Team.   Registration available at http://www.colesport.com/  or at Cole Sport’s location on 1615 Park Ave

9 A.M – 4:30 P.M – Rugby in the City Park

Ever wondered how the entertaining game of rugby is played?  Beginning at 11 AM instructions on how rugby is played will be given, then at 1 PM the premiere match will take place; leading up to the “Park City old boys” match at 2:30 PM.

11:00 A.M – The Old Fashioned 4th of July Parade

The famous 4th of July Parade will proceed from the top of Main Street and end at the City Park.  Over 70 bright and festive floats will show off our town’s heritage.  This is a spectator favorite and can be viewed anywhere along Main Street to the City Park, but get there early to save a spot.

12 – 4 P.M – Celebration in City Park

The City Park is a great place for all ages, providing live music, food, a beer garden, games, and kids’ activities. Whether a participant or spectator, you’ll want to take part in City Park’s north fields for 3-Legged races, wheel barrow races, sack races, and other games that will take place. Consider having lunch at the Park with the Rotary’s famous BBQ.

5:30 P.M to 9:30 P.M

We’re not done yet.  After the festivities in the City Park head over to Park City Mountain Resort for plenty of fun and activities for the kids, not to mention the beer garden for the adults and BBQ for the families.  The free concert starts at 7 PM, which all leads to our spectacular fireworks extravaganza.

Nightfall (usually between 9:30 and 10:00 P.M)   Fireworks

Celebrating the Fourth wouldn’t be the same without the Park City fireworks.  There’s not a bad spot to see the fireworks, but great views of the show can be seen from the golf course and across from the Resort. A local favorite is the Aerie subdivision, accessed on Deer Valley Drive.  Don’t forget to plan ahead and bring a blanket or some chairs to make it an even more comfortable experience.  Please remember to respect the personal fireworks ban.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July in Park City!
