Park City Summer Guide: Mountain Biking & Hiking near Canyons Village

Gondola-served trails, Deer Valley Bike Park, Round Valley and more

When the snow melts, Park City becomes one of the best mountain biking and hiking towns in the country. Our Canyons Village vacation rentals put you right at the trailheads, so you can ride from the door, take a gondola up the mountain, or head across town to Deer Valley and Round Valley.

Mountain Biking from Canyons Village

The Park City area has more than 450 miles of trails, and Canyons Village sits right in the middle of them. In summer, the Red Pine Gondola carries riders and bikes from the Canyons Village base to about 8,100 feet, where you can connect to some of the area's best-known trails:

Bike shops and rentals are available in Canyons Village. Note that e-bikes are not allowed on singletrack trails within Park City limits.

Deer Valley Bike Park

Many of our guests spend a day or two riding the lift-served downhill and flow trails at Deer Valley Resort, a short drive across town. Deer Valley now requires riders to buy a Deer Valley Pedal Pass and sign a waiver before entering the bike park, so check deervalley.com for current passes, hours and season dates before you go.

Round Valley

Round Valley is a large city-owned open space on the east side of town with a big network of rolling, beginner-friendly singletrack. It's a favorite for families, trail runners and riders looking for an easy spin, and many of its trails stay rideable early and late in the season.

Hiking

Most of the area's bike trails are shared with hikers. The Mid Mountain Trail and the trails above Canyons Village offer big views of the Wasatch Back, and a gondola ride up gives you a head start on the climb. Bring plenty of water: Park City sits at about 7,000 feet, and the air is dry.
