Canyons Village Ski Guide 2026–27: Skyway Gondola, Parking & Shuttles
Lifts, parking, free shuttles and what’s new at Park City Mountain this season
Canyons Village is the west-side base of Park City Mountain, one of the largest ski resorts in the United States. Our vacation rentals sit in and around the village, so this guide covers what our guests ask us most: how to reach the lifts, where to park, how to get around without a car, and what's new for the 2026–27 season.
What's New for 2026–27: The Skyway Gondola
The open-air Cabriolet that carried skiers into Canyons Village for nearly three decades has been replaced by the new Skyway Gondola. It runs from the new Canyons Village Parking Structure (near S.R. 224 and the Frostwood Drive roundabout) up to the village, with enclosed 10-person cabins and a new mid-station that gives lodging guests in the middle of the village direct access for the first time. Like the Cabriolet, it's free to ride.
Park City Mountain is targeting November 20, 2026 for opening day, weather permitting. Other updates this season include the return of the 22-foot superpipe and a new remote avalanche-control system at Limelight Bowl.
Getting to the Lifts
- Red Pine Gondola – The main lift out of the Canyons Village base, climbing to about 8,100 feet and connecting to the rest of Park City Mountain.
- Skyway Gondola – Free gondola linking the parking structure and mid-village lodging to the base area.
- Walk from your rental – Many of our Hidden Creek, Canyons View and Red Pine homes are a short walk from the Skyway Gondola or the base area.
Parking at Canyons Village
Park City Mountain has ended free garage parking at Canyons Village. When the parking structure opens in early December, daily parking is $29. Parking is free for cars with four or more people (space permitting) and free after 12 p.m., and a limited free surface lot is available first come, first served. A season parking pass is also offered by reservation. Rules can change during the season, so check Park City Mountain's "Getting Here" page before you drive.
Tip: Staying with us usually means you can leave the car at your rental and walk or take a free shuttle to the lifts.
Getting Around Without a Car
- High Valley Transit – Fare-free buses connect Canyons Village with Kimball Junction and the S.R. 224 corridor, and on-demand microtransit serves many neighborhoods.
- Park City Transit – Fare-free city buses serve Old Town, Main Street, Park City Mountain Village and Deer Valley, connecting with High Valley Transit routes.

Skiing Deer Valley, Snowbird and Alta
Canyons Village is a convenient home base for exploring more than one resort. Deer Valley Resort is a short drive or bus ride across town, and Big Cottonwood and Little Cottonwood Canyon resorts like Brighton, Solitude, Snowbird and Alta are within an hour's drive, depending on road and weather conditions.
Après-Ski and Village Life
The Canyons Village plaza has shops, restaurants, fire pits and an outdoor stage for concerts and events, and the village is decorated during the holidays. Many of our guests' favorite evenings start with a soak in the hot tub back at the rental.
